CERTIFICATION

Member of:

American Electrology Association
Pennsylvania Society of Electrologists

State Board Certification

Currently, electrologists in Pennsylvania do not have any type of State Board to protect the client. Just like a lot of everyday medical procedures that are performed, you must take the responsibility yourself to ask for the credentials of the individual performing your services.

National Board Certification

Robyn has more than 15 years of knowledge and experience in this profession.  She is currently National Board Certified through the American Electrology Association, an International Board of Electrology (AEA* look under resources/links to find Web site).  This organization is recognized and well respected.   Robyn successfully passed their international exam more than once and is required to fulfill Continuing Education CEUs each year to remain current.

But, remember, regardless of certification, when interviewing an electrologist, ask questions and concerns that you may have. Also go for a consultation and ask additional questions. First and foremost look for proper sterilization. Ask if they follow the "Infection Control Standards" given by the CDC (Center for Disease Control).  Ask if disposable filaments are used every treatment.  Follow your own intuition and if you're not happy with your first choice, seek another electrologist.  Just like any profession, there are very skilled electrologists to help you.  Research until you find an electrologist that you feel comfortable with.

"Our personal message to most women":

The word taboo comes to mind when we think of the conversations over the years with many, many women. Have you ever seen this type of problem? The embarrassing reflection it has on ones self-esteem and personality is heartbreaking and very real!

The many secrets that women share do not include hair found on our face and body areas.  Recently a new acquaintance asked  “what is your profession?”

"I told her I was an electrologist." She said,  “she didn't know anybody that ever needed electrolysis." Of course, I could never break confidentiality, but she did.

Let's be honest. We all have been in situations where the use of hair removal products have been in our shopping bags or come by mail, ready to be tried at home and, for the most part, resulted in failure with much dissatisfaction. Results to the skin can be damaging, assaulting it with unknown chemicals that the average consumer knows nothing about. Let's not even talk about the home waxing kits - easy directions, just apply and pull it off!!!  Yeah!

Electrolysis is the only choice for Permanent Hair Removal. Electrolysis employs the use of a small filament inserted into a natural opening of the skin called the hair follicle. By sending a small, minute amount of electricity to this area, this follicle is disabled and can no longer produce a hair. Technical application, with the use of a newer, computerized electrolysis machine called an epilator, is also a very important factor for the client seeking treatments.  For best comfort level, results are directly related to skill and epilator.

Individuals have different reasons for hair growth. Heredity, hormonal, medicinal and environmental factors play a big part of this ongoing problem. When taking the history of your health, we will discuss your individual concern and work together toward a common goal to resolve the causes of your Hirsutism.
